Where your dog isn’t just cared for—they’re understood.

Whether you're headed out of town or just need peace of mind while you're busy, our boarding service gives your dog more than a place to stay—it gives them care, structure, and enrichment from a certified professional. At Rachelle’s Ruff Riders, your pup will live in-home with me (not in a kennel) and be treated like one of my own.

* Care by a Certified Trainer *

As a CPDT-KA certified trainer with over 5 years of hands-on experience, I know what dogs are really saying—even when they don’t use words. This means I can read body language, recognize subtle signs of stress or discomfort, and adjust care accordingly. Your dog isn’t just safe here—they’re understood.

I’ve worked with puppies, anxious dogs, and high-energy pups who need a little structure to thrive. Whether your dog loves cuddles or just needs space to decompress, I provide personalized care in a calm, dog-savvy home. No loud kennels. No being left alone for hours. Just cozy naps, thoughtful routines, and real connection.

FAQs

Q: What makes your boarding different from a kennel or pet sitter?
A: This isn’t a crowded facility or a quick drop-in. Your dog stays in my home and receives individualized care, enrichment, and structure from a certified professional. It's quiet, safe, and customized to their comfort level.

Q: Will my dog be around other dogs?
A: Only if appropriate and safe! I have two dogs living here, but I generally keep them separated from guests. I will only board one dog at a time!

Q: Do you board dogs with anxiety or quirks?
A: Yes—as long as they’re non-aggressive and comfortable around men (my partner lives with me). I welcome dogs with mild fear, stress, or reactivity on leash. If you're not sure if it's a fit, reach out!

Q: What if my dog needs medication?
A: No problem! I'm experienced in giving oral meds, supplements, or basic care. Just include clear instructions and enough for the stay.

Q: Can I get updates?
A: Absolutely. You'll get regular photos, videos, and check-ins so you never have to wonder how your pup is doing.

Q: Do you use shock collars, prong collars, or other aversive tools?
A: No. We use only science-backed, humane training methods based in positive reinforcement. Research shows aversives can increase fear and anxiety and often suppress behavior without addressing the root cause. Our focus is on trust, not intimidation. That means rewarding behaviors we do want, rather than punishing the ones we don’t.
